- My favorite project was the stained glass project because I enjoyed cutting glass and picture hunting even though it was kind of a struggle to find something that was do able and pretty. Other projects that I enjoyed included the metal etching. I found this project to be really fun but also coming with my biggest struggle. The project was fun in the way I got to draw and design on metal and then have it be eaten away by acid, that was cool, but I also struggled with shinning my piece. The first time I went to go shine my piece I was shaking and then I tried shining it and I burned myself and dropped my piece. Then the second time I was still shaking and then the machine took my piece and flung it back, then I stopped what I was doing and phoned a friend for help so in the end I was able to over come my struggle. - The first time I walked into the class I was like wow, I'm going to cut myself a lot, but then I only cut myself once so it was okay. I didn't know anything about glass, where it came from, how costly it was to create, how glass was cut, melted, and created. But now I know that red glass is the most expensive and glass is created in a factory with sand and glass can be melted and bent in a kiln to create any shape. Over all I found that I prefer glass over metal. Metal was fun, but very limiting. With glass I could create and perfect it with a grinder or trimming it, but with metal, I couldn't go back and change something, a cut or a position. And although I preferred glass over metal, metal was still just as fun, and overall my idea about this class was completely changed and I look forward to maybe taking it in the future.
